Since the dawn of time, in a galaxy far far far away... And a little to the left of the one you're thinking of... The age old question has been asked; why do people play mobile games? Here at Mobile Games Unlimited, we've been pondering this and have been able to come up with a compilation of different reasons, some serious and others wacky enough just to be possible!
As you would expect with such a question of biblical proportions, the reasons are varied and yes, it could be possible that some will indeed not make it onto this list (sincerest apologies to those who have a different answer - but, you're wrong!). Please pick the countdown music of your choice and enjoy the top ten list below and see whether you can guess what's number one!
10 - New Entry - To ignore those around you
In a twist in irony, yes the art of conversation is truly dead by the mobile phone! We've all seen someone either being ignored or choosing to ignore others in the room or street. Fortunately for those who find the situations they're in or the company they're with unbearable (grandparent's exchanging notes on knitting, a lousy date or being told something dull by your parents etc.) you can tune them out by busting out a game on your trusty phone!
9 - To save the world, one game at a time...
Some gaming addicts out there can't cope with the real world so prefer to be a hero in their mobile world. Those of you who have pulled the duvet cover over your head at night time rather than going to sleep - you are far from alone. Whether its defeating the end of level boss or just improving your putting skill, you needn't hide any more - except from your mother who'd much rather you spent as much energy on your homework or chores as you do on zapping zombies!
8 - Having a break at work
Have a break, have a mobile game... Yes, more calorie burning than most of your day-job activities put together, (unless you happen to be an athlete), your thumbs get a thorough workout when killing time. Probably an excellent way to vent your days' frustrations, without getting into any trouble for using the office computer, you can chill out with a relaxing or taxing game of your choice and let yourself unwind. If you're anything like me, a quality game of crazy golf or pool are excellent ways to disconnect from your office atmosphere, and also allow you to have a sandwich in one hand and the mobile in the other! Trust me, playing something more tricky with one hand and trying to drink coffee with the other may mean you'll be escorted from the building, or at the very least wind up with a burnt appendage!
